Everyone is an artist, you just have to choose to explore the inner depths of yourself
you're right, it's ruining the photography, and it is meant this way so I won't bother asking peoples not to use this picture for their own purposes.
And I believe in the magic power of our brain to get rid of this pollution
thank you!

In my opinion watermarking and all that is a waste of time if you're not planning on selling your art, because it's just detrimental to your own pictures

Take a look... Regarding to this website, some of my pictures were used more than 20 times. some were used to illustrate journalistic texts, others were for reasons I don't always know because the website they're on is in a foreign language.

Basically, many are removed after a simple email to them.
with copyright on it, it's way easier to prove that it's yours. and sometimes, I just leave it as it is, as long as the copyright is big enough and the subject interesting enough to make me publicity.
And about the "detrimental things" to my pictures. I think that most peoples don't have their screen calibrated and don't look at the pictures in perfect light conditions... although, many of my pictures were edited on calibrated screen for print otpimisation and that I try to care about the light under which they're edited.
So... viewing pictures of the internet is not an ideal condition. I think that if peoples really wants to see pictures nicely, they should get their boots on and walk to the closest museum.... Or even buy the pictures...
(And BTW I actually sell some of my pictures and I do make money with photography on a time to time basis...)
So leaving a watermark is about:
- proving very quickly that the picture belong to you.
- forcing crop if peoples want to "steal" the pictures and then, proving easily that the picture is yours as you can show the missing edges.
- making yourself some publicity if someone use your pictures without asking for permission
- caring about your work (i.e all the time you've put for one shot) - caring about yourself
Rude or not, I don't care. Comments are always appreciated.
